Dr. Mark Greene is returning to ER

Friday, September 5th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

The final season of ER is getting better and better. Anthony Edwards will be returning to the series in the November 13th episode. But before you get your hopes up, he is not returning from beyond the grave, he will be seen in flashbacks only.

Anthony Edwards will reprise the role of Greene, who died of a brain tumor at the end of the 2002 season, in flashback scenes in the Nov. 13 episode, NBC announced Thursday.

Dr. Greene will be shown with other characters from the show’s past and during an encounter with series newcomer Dr. Cate Banfield (Angela Bassett), an attending physician at County General, the network said.

This could be interesting, you have to wonder how hot their “encounter” was previously!

I also think this is a great way for them to bring back such an important character to the final season of the show. Fans will love this bittersweet final season, which starts with the season premiere on September 25th.

Noah Wyle returning to ER

Friday, August 22nd, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Yes, if you are a Noah Wyle fan, you will be pleased to know that he is confirmed to return to ER for the final season. But don’t look for Dr. John Carter to show up until sometime close to the end of the season (I know, I know, we have to wait, and it sucks!)

And there is no word as of yet on how is return will come about or why John will be returning to the E.R., even if it is as a doctor or as simply a visitor. We will keep you posted! Be sure to subscribe to the RSS feed for the latest.

Angela Bassett joins ER as ER’s new chief

Sunday, August 17th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Angela Bassett fans will be happy when she joins the cast of ER for the show’s 15th - and final - season. However, she is not joining the cast with the eye of her character on a spin-off series (although, in true Hollywood style, I predict never say never!)

ER returns to the airwaves on September 25th on NBC.

Have you been loving your ER for the past 15 seasons? Well NBC sure is, because according to Kristin, ER has been picked up for a 22 episode 15th season! There had been rumors that the producers needed to trim the budget down in order to get it renewed, so it looks like they did!

Itching for the rest of the 14th season? NBC has just announced that ER will join many other shows with an April premiere date. So set your Tivos, ER will be back on April 15th at 10pm.

ER might be back for a 15th season if they can trim the budget

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Because of NBCs contract, we know that ER will HAVE to be back in April, so we are just waiting on an air date from NBC. But now, Ausiello reports that there could be a 15th season of ER. Of course, there is a catch. If Warner Brothers can bring down the shows budget, that is.

According to the trades, NBC is contractually obligated to produce more episodes this season, so it’ll definitely return in April. And if Warner Bros. can shave enough $$$ off the budget for next season, there’s a decent chance it’ll be back for a 15th (!!!) season.

Eeek! Kristin from E has the scoop that there will be some flirty action going on between Sam & Gates. Yep, you did read that right, Sam & Gates!

In an upcoming ep, Sam and Gates…flirt?! Say whaaa? It’s subtle, but it’s there, and it’s kind of freaking me out!

Eeeeek! Need I say more?

Goran Visnjic returning to ER for four episodes

Thursday, August 30th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

ergoranvisnjic.jpg

Missing seeing Goran Visnjic around the ER? Well, you are in lucky because Ausiello reports that Goran will be returning to ER for (at least) four episodes this season as Dr. Luka Kovac. As you will remember, the season finale of season 13 was the final episode for both Goran Visnjic and Shane West as regular cast members.

Neela E.R. spoilers - what happens next season after the bombing

Friday, May 25th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

ercast.jpg

So everyone wants to know what is happening to Neela after the bomb in the E.R. season finale. And we have some super spoilers for the season premiere in the fall. No need to wait months until the new season starts, we have the E.R. Neela scoop now.

Question: I am never going to make it to next fall without some hint as to what is to come on ER! What is going to happen to Neela?— Tammy
Ausiello: (Spoiler alert) As you’ll learn in the season premiere, the bomb blast didn’t prove nearly as harmful to Neela as the stampede that followed it. She spends almost the entire episode in surgery, where Dubenko is forced to step aside due to his feelings for her. By the end of the hour, she is still unconscious and it’s touch-and-go for her.

I wonder what will happen after the first episode… we will keep you posted!

E.R. not bringing back Shane West as series regular next season

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

shanewest.jpg

Yep, it is true. Hottie Shane West is leaving E.R. and it sounds like the decision was made by the show, not Shane.

Is Shane West off of ER?
Yep. Inside sources tell me the producers wanted to “clean house” a bit—which apparently is a euphemism for “chop his character’s legs off at the knee”—so Shane’s no longer a series regular, although he may return for guest spots. Shane shot a pilot called Supreme Courtships, a comedy for Fox, but sadly, it was not picked up.

We had been hearing rumors that he would not be back, and it appears to be true. Keep your fingers crossed he will return for some guest star spots though!

Stanley Tucci will be series regular next season on ER

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Well, Stanley Tucci’s 3 Lbs bombed miserably. But looks like he has signed on with ER to be a series regular next season. I love Stanley Tucci - although I definitely wasn’t a fan of 3 Lbs (and can I say once again what a bad show title that was?) , so I am pretty pleased he’ll be on ER next season.

ER’s Goran Visnjic likely won’t be back next season

Sunday, March 11th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

ergoranvisnjic.jpg

The rumors have been running rampant that Goran Visnjic wouldn’t be returning next season on ER, in what would be the series 14th season. Ausiello says that it is 99% certain he won’t be back as a series regular, so there is hope he could be back in some kind of role for next season.

He also adds that Maura Tierney is contracted through next season, so she will definitely be there!

Final ER episode for Laura Innes to air this Thursday

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

laurainnes.jpg
Tonight is the night that the last new Laura Innes episode will air. And apparently, it will be a tear jerker.

The episode is a House Divided:

Luka reacts negatively when he sees Abby giving extra attention to a patient; Meg becomes infuriated when Gates moves out; Pratt is questioned by the police after one of his patients dies; Weaver makes a pivotal decision.

Laura Innes, of course, plays Dr. Kerry Weaver. E.R. has seen a lot of actors come and go over the year (remember when we had George Clooney to admire?) so the show will no doubt carry on. But I wonder if Innes regrets her decision to leave the show now that it is having its best year in, well, years. But then again, she first showed up years ago… season three to be exact.

Her final episode airs Thursday, January 11th on NBC.

Neela & Ray get together on ER in February

Thursday, December 21st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

If you have been hoping for Ray and Neela to get in on, you are about to be in luck. You won’t need to wait for any silly season finale cliffhanger, because it will be happening on February 8th!

The episode is called “Murmurs of the Heart”. But check out the episode description:

While Luka tries to extricate Pratt from a legal mess, Abby has an unexpected visitor. Later, Luka receives an emergency summons, and finds himself in the middle of a tense confrontation. Neela must accompany an unexpected overdose case to the hospital. Sam’s new home is soon under threat from fire, but who started it?

Could Ray be the unexpected overdose?

It will be interesting to watch how this plays out… will it be a drunken interlude which results in all that pesky awkwardness, or will it be a “i looked into your eyes and I knew” moment. But either way, Neela and Ray fans will take whatever kind of hooking up between the two that they can get!

NBC orders 25th episode of ER… series finale?

Sunday, October 29th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

So why would NBC order a single additional episode to this season’s order, making this season with a total of 25 episodes? Is the 13th season of the series going to prove to be the unlucky series number, and ER will wrap its 13th season with the series finale as the 25th episode? I don’t even have to mention that 25 episodes in a season is also an unusual number of episodes as well.

Of course, it could be as a result of the fact that ER is unexpectedly doing better this season, and NBC has decided not to pull the show for a 13 week hiatus to allow another show its 13 episode run (unlucky for The Black Donnellys). Instead, ER will air at its 10pm Thursday timeslot right through to May sweeps.

So, what do you think? Is the added 25th episode to make room for a series finale or reunion special show where all the past and present cast gets together? As fans know, there is no longer a regular cast member still on the show from the first season (ah, remember the young George Clooney).

Stay tuned!

ER doing so well, it won’t be going on NBC induced hiatus

Saturday, October 21st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

ER has regained it’s former glory of the number one slot for the 10pm Thursday night slot. While it hasn’t had huge audience gains (just under one million) it has managed to get the top spot because of weak time slot competition and the fact “Without a Trace” moved to Sundays.

But now that it is doing so well, NBC has shelved the plan that would have seen that time slot be re-run free, by having ER run for 13 weeks, then take a 13 week break while The Black Donnellys did its series run, then ER would return for the final 9 episodes of the season. But now that ER is number one, there is the fear that it could lose its momentum if another series takes its time slot for 13 weeks.

So what does this mean? It means ER will command that slot for the entire season, although we will see some reruns interspersed throughout the season.
